A series of chance meetings in Manchester, India and West Yorkshire brought Nicky and Catherine together and True North Yoga was born. We realised we had similar experiences of working in high pressure environments and a passion for yoga. Our vision is to make yoga accessible at work, at home and online to support you to manage stress and anxiety and improve your mental and physical health.

Yoga for stress, anxiety and post covid recovery
Yoga has been part of my life for over twenty years, alongside my work as a Social Worker and trainer. I completed my first yoga 200 hour teacher training course in 2008, and my second with Yoga Campus in 2018. I teach Hatha yoga in organisations and online to a diverse group of people and love to see how the magic of yoga transforms people’s lives.
I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me. Yoga helped me recover from work related stress. I’ve grown stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. In my classes I combine creative sequencing, moving with the breath and deep relaxation techniques to reduce stress and anxiety so you feel relaxed, and more balanced in mind, body and spirit.

After practicing for many years I brought yoga more fully into the heart of my life and completed my 200 hour Teacher Training Cert in India in 2015. I went on to teach a daily morning class as a volunteer teacher in Northern India. It was a great start to life as a yoga teacher! I later completed my Teaching Diploma with Yoga Campus in Manchester in 2020 studying with a diverse range of teachers, each of them experts, and learning something different from each of them. This has enriched both my teaching and my own practice.
Yoga is a constant source of steadiness, learning and inspiration as I go through life. During the lockdown I found a sense of continuity and community through teaching and practicing online, which was essential for me, as a home worker and home aloner. Yoga is the perfect way to release stress through movement and I love to teach classes which connect with the breath and help you to find your stability, strength and stillness both in the moment and in your life.
